About The Winner

Jo Clark headshot Jo Clark started out in music as a Reluctant barbershop trio member with her sisters singing harmonies and dancing for small town gigs and humiliating school shows. She then took a long hiatus to attend college, graduate school and start an Internet company. 100 employees and a good bashing later, she started writing songs, learning the craft and moved to Nashtucky baby. Since the move, she has written a bunch of songs nobody's heard and attended all the lost soul workshops to figure out what she was doing. In 2002 and 2003, she was selected twice for Barbara Cloyd's Play for Publishers workshops and met and is working with some new publishers along with some other co-writer friends. Recently she worked with the Nashville New Music Seminar to organize and promote the Triple Threat Showcase and was among the seven chicks in the Showcase who got to play based on singing, songwriting ability and having a look. She has played a couple early shows at the Bluebird (yee haw) and is working on putting together a rockin' chick band while continuing to play around town.
